Easter Week
If you're visiting Peru in Easter, you'll want to make sure you make time to take in this one-of-a-kind celebration. This traditional religious festival is one of the biggest of its kind and offers street processions, performances and plenty of authentic food.
Star of the Snow Festival (between May and June)
Known locally as Ccoyllor Ritty, this traditional festival is held between May and June each year. The festival itself takes place over four days and includes a pilgrimage trek, live music and dance, authentic costumes and more.
Corpus Christi (June)
Held every June, this religious parade is one of the most important in the Peruvian calendar. The biggest festivities take place at the Plaza de Armas and the local cathedral, with breath-taking displays and effigies.
Santuranticuy Festival (December)
Held annually in December, this crafts fair might very well be the biggest of its kind in the country. The works of hundreds of artists are brought together and displayed in the Plaza de Armas with an incredible selection of ceramics, paintings, altars and statues.
