Kala Ghoda Arts Festival
Art lovers rejoice as the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival comes to the region every February. Sprawling from the northern to the southern end of Mahatma Gandhi Road, the festival celebrates the region's finest talent and creations which are exhibited and housed in institutions such as the National Gallery of Modern Art, the David Sassoon College, the Elphinstone College and many more.
Holi
Prepare for a brightly coloured spectacle every March as the locals run rampant throughout the city, with water and vividly coloured powder. Holi is the Hindu celebration of fertility and Harvest.
Ganesh Chathurthi
The God of wisdom and prosperity, Ganesh, the deity with the elephant head is celebrated in September. This is the city's largest festival and reaches its climax when locals submerge statues of their idol, Ganesh in the sea.
Navratri
The goddess, Durga is honoured during the Hindu 'Festival of Nine Nights' in October. The locals celebrate by worshiping, dancing and singing.
